FLOWERS & ALLERGIESWhen you or your guests suffer from hay fever, react to roses or succumb to various other floral displays don’t exclude the guest with these problems, most are prepared-- but if all else fails and they are having a strong reaction to the table display encourage the removal of the particular blossom or the entire centerpiece for their comfort. Some flowers are better for your bouquets or boutonnières. Pollen free chrysanthemums, asters and dahlias, double flowered baby’s breath, Cecil Bruner and Banksias roses, hydrangeas, double tuberous begonias have little or no pollen. Remove the anthers ahead from lilies and calla lilies. Use camellias, orchids, pots of viola, pansies and inpatients, bougainvillea for tables. If a lawn event, you will want to mow two to three days ahead of the event and use a grass catcher.
